Essentially we are spiritual beings in human form. There is the invisible and visible aspect of who we are. There seems to be two separate realms. But is there really? We know the unquestioned power of who we are as soul-spirit because consciousness gives rise to all matter. Yet on the body-ego-personality level there is no denying the power of money in our everyday life. For most people on this planet the struggle to get money for survival or advancement consumes all of their time and energy. It is in fact the most normal natural thing to do from the time we are able to earn to the time we die. Yet in the course of our journey of life we undergo experiences that make us naturally seek the GOD in us – the soul-spirit Comforter, Creator of all. And then we are asked to divest ourselves of all material attachment to experience our true value, our innate worthiness in oneness with the Creator – the ultimate “I have nothing, . . . . I have everything” state of being.
How then do we reconcile this with the reality of our need for money for our daily survival? How do we divest ourselves of money which in most cases may not even be enough to cover our everyday living expenses? Is there really a conflict? Actually there shouldn’t be. The conflict will be created only by our own distortion of the reality. God has created us in his image and likeness and HE would like for us to experience abundance. He has created the Universe for us to live in and everything we need in life he has already provided for us. We only need to live in right relationship with our physical and material world specifically with money. Our self-worth must not be measured in direct proportion to our net worth as reflected in our Statement of Assets and Liabilities. This spiritual/material duality is part of our existence and the challenge is for us to find the center in the tension and experience wholeness. We are not being asked to divest of our material possessions literally. We need to learn to detach from any attachment to money – to the material and to be able to do this we need to develop or evolve into a higher level of soul-spirit consciousness.
Money by its very nature is neither bad nor good. Man has created money as a valuable tool or resource for the exchange of goods and services needed in living on planet earth in the modern world. Man can use money to either help or harm himself and others. When money no longer serves a higher purpose then the Spiritual/Material conflict is experienced. The Law of Economy and the Law of Attraction are the Universal Laws that govern the use of and exchange of the Universe’ bountiful resources for the good of humankind. When greed, lust, gluttony become the driving force in the accumulation of money then scarcity rather than abundance is created. When the earth’s resources are usurped by a limited few and not shared with the less fortunate then the Spiritual/Material conflict is experienced and acquisition or accumulation of money becomes an obsession or compulsion that no amount can ever give man any feeling of meaning or fulfillment. Only when we are able to align our Spirituality with body-ego-personality material needs can we experience wholeness, meaning, fulfillment and abundance.
However, some people who are deeply committed to the spiritual path, may believe that through their devotion, GOD will take care of them. In fact we affirm that indeed GOD has created the Universe providing all that we need for our survival on earth and this indeed is a spiritual truth. However, we need to ground spirituality by being responsible in attending to the demands of ordinary life. Indeed, spirituality is most powerful when soul is lived and expressed in the most mundane of situations.
In truth there is no conflict. The conflict is being created in the mind of man. If you are having money problems and there doesn’t seem to be never enough it means you are not in alignment with soul-spirit or you are not managing your money properly on the body-ego-personality level. For this you will need a Registered Financial Planner to assist you. On the other hand, if you have more than enough to cover your basic needs and even enjoy luxuries but you still find yourself feeling empty and lack meaning and fulfillment in your life then you will need a Soul Counsellor to help you align the Spiritual with the material in your life.

WISHING YOU GREAT WEALTH AND THE EXPERIENCE OF ABUNDANCE, MEANING AND FULFILLMENT!
