Would you like to experience a better quality life? First off be prepared to embark on a Journey and the Journey is actually a lifetime quest. Second be prepared to live in the present moment. Focus on the journey and not on the destination. But while on this journey of your life, its okay to set SMART Goals. Though the goals do not become an end in themselves but rather opportunities for greater love, service and being responsible to the whole. Third, you must become conscious of the unconscious. You cannot change what you do not know. And fourth, walk the talk – take action. Most important of all, anchor yourself well in your Divinity.

There are two vital practices or disciplines to be practiced daily with commitment and focus to be able to create a better quality life and equip us well on this life journey. These are MEDITATION and JOURNALING. These two practices must become a priority in our daily life and last but not the least have a mentor or guide or a support group that empowers rather than controls and that abide by Universal and Divine Laws to help you in your journey.

Actually we are always naturally manifesting and mostly not aware of it. Also sometimes we walk our talk and then sometimes we dont. That’s why its important to clear out old patterns, limiting beliefs and habits that make us stuck in mediocrity and poor quality life – frequent illness, accident prone, unhealthy relationships, anger, resentment, frustration, sadness, scarcity and so forth and so on. We need to connect to soul-spirit and this is why meditation is a vital practice for those seeking to create a better quality life. During a meditation process we experience Oneness with One God Spirit. We need to identify with the soul qualities of Truth, Beauty and Goodness. Spirituality is different from religiosity in that at times, the latter encourages us being separate from GOD. We are One with GOD and not separate from him. We are made in his image and likeness so therefore, essentially we are Divine. We are both human and divine.

An awakened consciousness, connected to Soul and Spirit will generate the positive energies to bring about the new perspectives in our life that will in turn manifest in our experiences. Energy follows thoughts. We learn to integrate and align in our mental, astral/emotional and physical bodies and attune to soul-spirit. We learn to identify what blocks us from creating a better quality life. This is why Journaling is important in our journey. We need to be able to “Think It and Ink It”. With journaling we will be able to identify unhealthy patterns in our thoughts and actions and stop the vicious cycles of unhealthy relationships and poor quality life. Thoughts are fleeting and writing them down, including our dreams, feelings and experiences will enable us to become conscious of the unconscious and through meditation, visualization and imagination learn to re-create new consciousness that will enable us to enjoy a better qualify life during our lifelong journey on this earth.

This may sound all so very simple and easy but the fact is embarking on this journey for a better quality life is full of challenges. But the good thing is that we will experience more joy, more happiness, meaning and fulfillment. We become multidimensional, being able to see the bigger picture, more imaginative, creative and able to give and receive love unconditionally.

With deep gratitude I sought permission to reprint the Energies of 2010 by Andrew Schneider, The Soul Journey, as follows:

The First Decade
Primary Theme: Communication
Fears
A Year of Expression
A Feminine Year
A Creative Year

The First Decade

The first decade of this millennium, 2000 to 2010, carries the same two themes of energy as the first century of this millennium – the 21st century – and the same as the Aquarian Age itself. These themes are:

• right relationship to the ‘other’, or the development of soul consciousness
• right relationship to the world, or the manifestation of soul consciousness.

Developing soul consciousness involves the following:
a) cultivating values and virtues.
b) finding meaning in life’s experiences.
c) discovering the energy behind the form.
d) sacrificing for a greater good.
e) having loving intention in thought, word and deed.
f) responding to need as recognized in others.
g) cultivating loving relationships with others.
h) recognizing and responding to a higher authority that is wiser than the personality.
i) cultivating the higher mind, enabling one to see causes and eventually become a cause.
j) grasping ideals and visions relating to the Plan of love and light.
k) cultivating the heart; and bringing heart into conformity with mind. This bridges to right action and group consciousness.
l) willingness to merge, which also leads to group consciousness.

Primary Theme: Communication

Communication is about joining consciousness with life energy and expressing it creatively. It is connecting spirit and matter through the soul, and expressing it outwardly through the instrument of the mind. It is about aligning personal will with divine will. Through communication we express who we are at all levels from the separated self to the Spirit self. The will is central to this expression.
In 2010 we must emphasize the yin approach to communication. This must result in:
a.) Surrendering personal will to Divine Will.
b.) Opening the mind to impression from soul.
c.) Making connections and seeing relationships between ideas and things.
d.) Listening deeply – to oneself, to others and to Spirit.

Fears

The fears to face this year might be: fear of having no voice, no authority, fear of expressing oneself, fear of making the wrong choices, fear of being out of control, fear of releasing your power and authority to a higher power.

A Year of Expression

This year is a time when we need to find the appropriate ways and means through which to express the fruit of our consciousness and spirituality that we have developed to date. This is a year of expression – of all that we are and are conscious of. Our consciousness is essentially our love, our soul love. 2010 is a year of spiritual love. As opposed to strictly human or personality love, spiritual love always seeks to express itself.

A Feminine Year

The associations of the year are decidedly feminine – symbolic of giving birth. In Christian symbolism, it is the year of the Virgin Mary. This suggests manifesting the Christ energy (soul consciousness) which is nurtured and maintained within us through purity of motivation (virgin).
This year corresponds to Binah on the Tree of Life, symbolizing understanding and the Mother – the Supernal Mother and the Mother of Form. We participate in this energy when we seek to understand others – people, things and life – and when we desire to create and give form to our ideas. The intelligence of this association is called The Sanctifying Intelligence – i.e., that which, when understood, makes holy.
The intelligence and understanding required is that of the ajna (brow) centre. It therefore refers to soul intelligence, soul wisdom. But there is also an association with the throat centre, requiring us to manifest in thought and form that which emanates from higher understanding.
Because of all that this year stands for there is total universal support for individuals participating in the Soul Journey program.
The soul quality of the year is compassion. The energy is a combined yin and yang – simultaneously receptive and expressive, but dominantly yin.
The Tarot connection is with The Empress – again a feminine symbol. The Empress represents the following characteristics:
Positive: starting a creative venture; fruitful; fertility; initiative; action; light; truth; newness; renewal and growth; radiation of joy and creativity.
Negative: difficulty; doubt; ignorance; wasted energies; the unknown; vacillation; capability of violence and terrible anger; failure to start what one should do. Obviously we must avoid the negative and emphasize the positive.

A Creative Year

The creativity of the year resonates with our astral/emotional body, and particularly our imagination. We must use the imagination as an instrument of our higher understanding and will in order to manifest that which is an expression of love, rather than using it in a negative way to keep us stuck in fear, worry and selfishness. We could summarize this as the right use of feeling.
This is consequently the year of art and the year of desire, the object of both being the pursuit and manifestation of Beauty when soul motivated or inspired.
The Planetary associations this year are Saturn and Venus.
Saturn tells us to act with discipline and responsibility. It requires us to build structure into the areas of life that require it in order that the higher can be made manifest. Saturn teaches us to become mature. Saturn demands that we come to grips with the harsh realities of dense, physical manifestation. It will require us to develop discrimination, willpower and patience, as well as to apply ourselves to the tasks at hand.
Venus leads us into social relationships, romantic connections, friendships and artistic expression. She emphasizes the astral/emotional nature.
Our two guides for the year, Saturn and Venus, will ask us to reflect on, and possibly adjust, our attitudes toward money, personal possessions, creature comforts, social values, aesthetic values and the way we manifest love in everyday life.
The emphasis this year is on walking your talk, manifesting your consciousness, creating outwardly what is inwardly true, demonstrating practically the great love that is within you and within all. Let us give birth this year – and be willing to endure the necessary labour – so that the world we live in will be sanctified by our contribution and care.

May you have a creative, fulfilling and loving 2010!
